Good to know
- Nicorette's label says to use 4 mg if your first cigarette is within 30 minutes of waking up, and 2 mg if it's later.
- Store-brand nicotine lozenges are FDA-approved generics of the Nicorette lozenge (approved through abbreviated new drug applications).
- Mini lozenges (Nicorette Mini and store-brand minis) also have 4 mg of nicotine but are a smaller lozenge, so they aren't compared here.
- Flavor (mint, cherry, cinnamon, original) doesn't change the dose. The Nicorette label lists 18 mg of sodium per lozenge and phenylalanine (from aspartame).
