Good to know
- Nicorette's label says to use 2 mg if your first cigarette is more than 30 minutes after waking up, and 4 mg if it's within 30 minutes.
- Store-brand nicotine gums are FDA-approved generics of Nicorette (approved through abbreviated new drug applications).
- Flavor and coating (original, mint, cinnamon, fruit) don't change the dose — every 2 mg piece has the same nicotine.
