Good to know
- Women's Rogaine 5% Foam lists the same active ingredient (minoxidil 5% w/w) and the same inactive ingredients as Men's Rogaine Foam; only the directions differ — once a day for women, twice a day for men.
- Because women apply it once a day, the Women's carton labels one 60 g can as a two-month supply; the Men's carton labels each can as one month.
- In the estimated prices listed here, Women's Rogaine Foam costs about 40–50% more per can (38–50% across the stores listed) than Men's in multi-can packs at the same store — a "pink tax" on the same formula. Since women use half as much, the cost per month of use still comes out lower for women.
- Store-brand 5% minoxidil foams are FDA-approved generics of Rogaine Foam. Store-brand versions labeled for women also exist (CVS Health, Walgreens, up&up and Kroger).
- Rogaine's liquid solutions (Men's Extra Strength 5%, Women's 2%) are a different form and aren't part of this comparison.
