Good to know
- Excedrin Migraine and Excedrin Extra Strength caplets have the same active ingredients at the same strengths and the same inactive-ingredient list on their FDA labels. The labels differ: Migraine says "treats migraine" and limits adults to 2 caplets in 24 hours; Extra Strength allows 2 caplets every 6 hours (up to 8 in 24 hours) for ages 12 and up.
- Store brands sell this exact formula under both names — "Headache Relief Extra Strength" and "Migraine Relief".
- Same brand, different drugs: Excedrin Tension Headache has no aspirin (acetaminophen 500 mg + caffeine 65 mg), Excedrin PM Triple Action swaps caffeine for diphenhydramine citrate, and Excedrin Rapid Relief is acetaminophen 500 mg alone.
