Good to know
- Same drug, two aisles: ZzzQuil LiquiCaps, Simply Sleep, Sominex, Unisom SleepMinis and store-brand "Nighttime Sleep Aid" pills each contain diphenhydramine HCl 25 mg, the same active ingredient and strength as Benadryl Allergy.
- Same brand, different drug: Unisom SleepTabs and ZzzQuil Ultra contain doxylamine succinate, not diphenhydramine. Unisom SleepGels and Sominex Max are diphenhydramine 50 mg, which is twice this strength.
- Benadryl Allergy Extra Strength is 50 mg, and Benadryl Allergy Plus Congestion adds phenylephrine. Neither is compared here.
- Costco's Kirkland Signature Allergy Medicine (600 minitabs) is labeled "Compare to Benadryl Allergy Ultratabs" and has the same 25 mg of diphenhydramine HCl.
