Good to know
- Pepto-Bismol Original lists bismuth subsalicylate 525 mg per 30 mL dose; Kaopectate's regular liquids list 262 mg per 15 mL — the same concentration.
- Pepto-Bismol Ultra and Kaopectate Max contain 525 mg per 15 mL — twice this concentration — so they are not compared here.
- Despite the name, today's Kaopectate contains no kaolin or pectin: its active ingredient is bismuth subsalicylate, the same as Pepto-Bismol.
