Good to know
- Dulcolax Laxative and Dulcolax Stool Softener are different drugs: bisacodyl (a stimulant laxative) vs docusate sodium (a stool softener).
- Dulcolax Pink and store-brand "women's laxative" tablets are bisacodyl 5 mg — the same drug and dose as regular Dulcolax tablets, in different packaging.
- Bisacodyl tablets are coated so they pass the stomach before dissolving, which is why the label says not to chew them or take them within an hour of antacids or milk.
